For most of my working life I focused on a career in marketing and have been fortunate to work on many interesting projects including project managing the first ever open balloon flight to the North Pole and producing a range of TV soap-style educational videos on finance for schools. In 20 years in the marketing function, I've undertaken strategy and brand development, got more involved than a 'words bird' would have ever imagined with data management, research and insight, learned a great deal about client relationship management and channel management, as well as specialising for a time in marketing communication.Following a career break to battle and defeat breast cancer, I've had a change of direction and now own and run my own bridalwear business. Although marketing still forms a large part of what I do, I now get involved in finance, purchasing and sales, and am loving it, as well as getting a real thrill from matching a bride with a beautiful dress.
