This involves crafting the investor presentation to maximum effect, as well as coaching management on how to present most effectively to investors.On the flipside I also help investors understand luxury and consumer companies in order to understand their long-term prospects and value them correctly. I also currently have the privilege of sitting on the board of Prada SA and have previously sat on the board of other retail and consumer companies, including French Connection and Georg Jensen.What I used to do:-I spent 25 years as a retail and luxury analyst and the last 13 years as an independent consultant. 8 years ago, I also co-founded a high-end men’s running wear e-comm brand, Iffley Road. This really enabled me to understand the nitty gritty of e-commerce better, be it customer acquisition or digital advertising.The highlights of my career have been leading the research for the IPOs of Bulgari, Gucci and Burberry; as well as advising on the IPOs of Prada and Pandora. During an IPO you get to understand a company much better than at any other time. I was ranked top Luxury Goods analyst by Institutional Investor for 9 consecutive years.What I’m like:-I’ve been described as being prepared to ask the difficult questions, with a gritty determination.The thrill of researching consumer companies is that there is so much additional field research you can do in order to truly understand and explain the story.When I’m not researching luxury companies, I love running because so often it forces you to dig deep and tests your character in the same way you have to in life.What I offer:-I am available for luxury/consumer research, due diligence and board seats, but I only get involved if I feel I can make a real difference.
