I’m a Communications specialist with over 30 years of diverse experience in marketing and sales, project management, and customer training. I spent the first ten years of my career in healthcare sales as a top performer earning awards for performance and innovation before taking my passion for healthcare to the emerging biotech field as an advocate for AIDS patients fighting to get access to investigational new treatments not yet to market. My daughter’s diagnosis with Type 1 diabetes as a very young child inspired me to transfer my communication and healthcare knowledge into a leadership role with JDRF New England Chapter, helping to create a national networking program. We partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shield and that project resulted in an exciting role with BCBS where I served as an advisor for families with chronic illness leading an initiative to keep patients at home and out of the hospital. A move to the Bay Area in the mid 2000’s, with a young family required a pivot. I volunteered extensively, most notably holding leadership roles for JDRF Bay Area, National Charity League, and Boys Team Charity. My analytical and people skills kicked in on fun projects like designing custom itineraries for friends traveling both east and west, creative slideshows for birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations, and a personal newsletter sharing the often comical adjustments of living on the West coast as a Massachusetts transplant. Over the last two years, I have taken my favorite work and project experiences to partner up on the Empy Nester Calendar.
