    UK Friends of the National Museum of Women in the Arts (UK Friends of NMWA) supports the mission of NMWA, the only major museum in the world dedicated to art by women, based in Washington DC, by championing art by women with a connection to the UK, past and present. I was Chair of the Steering Committee 2018-2020, and organised two editions of Women to Watch: an exhibition series held every two to three years designed to increase the visibility of female artists who deserve greater international recognition and an opportunity to exhibit in a major museum in the United States. Each exhibition focuses on a specific medium chosen by the museum's curators, a local curator is appointed and up to 5 artists selected for whom we have an exhibition in London. For (works made of not on) Paper in 2019, NMWA selected Mary Evans and we showed the work of Abigail Reynolds, Mary Evans, Ludovica Gioscia, Charlotte McGowan Griffin and Sophie Bouvier Ausländer at Sotheby's selected by Natasha Howes of Manchester Art Gallery. For Metal in 2017, NMWA selected Rana Begum and we showed the work of Claire Barclay, Sara Barker, Rana Begum and Alison Wilding at Phillips with selector Caroline Douglas, Director, Contemporary Art Society.

Selby’s performance revolves around the pressures of social etiquette, specifically focusing on the virtues of self-restraint in the maintenance of manners.
