Contracted Environmental Officer for the construction of the Roggeveld Wind Farm.

• Develop, implement, communicate and monitor environmental policies, objectives, targets and action plans and practices.• Establish and maintain environmental systems, including ISO14001.• Ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation and related regulations (National Environmental Management Act, National Environmental: Waste Act, etc.), as well as applicable municipal by-laws. • Identify licenses required in terms of environmental legislation and compile licence applications.• Ensure compliance with client specifications, including requirements of the Environmental Authorisation and related permits.• Audit projects against client specifications, legal requirements (authorisations and permits), and internal systems (including ISO14001).• Conduct project environmental impact and aspect assessment and maintain impact and aspect register.• Manage required environmental monitoring.• Manage environmental incident and non-conformance reporting, recording, investigation, and implementing of corrective actions.• Manage and coordinate solid, liquid, and hazardous waste in terms of pollution control, waste management, and recycling. • Liaise with client and subcontractors.• Participate in and contribute to client, SHEQ and management meetings.• Monitor water, waste and energy usage for sustainability reporting.• Develop training materials and train staff at all levels on environmental awareness, issues and responsibilities.• Compile method statements (as relating to activity-associated environmental risks), and core and standard procedures, and evaluate sub-contractor and engineering method statements.• Maintain the hazardous materials database and associated Material Safety Data Sheets. • Manage the legal register.• Compile and submit environmental reports.• Compile required environmental documents for tender submission.• Manage junior environmental officers and representatives on site.• Compile and analyse sustainability reporting.

- Principal management of Basic Assessments, Scoping and Environmental Impact Assessments projects, Waste License Applications and Section 24G rectifications.- Production and compilation of Basic Assessment Reports, Scoping Reports and Environmental Impact Reports for parastatals and various residential and commercial developments.- Management of the Public Participation Process.- Management of specialists appointed to conduct impact assessments and baseline studies.- Participate in project meetings and interact and collaborate with clients and members of the project team.- Environmental Control Officer: site visits and environmental reporting thereof.

- Writing and design of learner guides and assessment guides for adult further education and training in various industries (mining sector, aeronautics, boat-building, management training and tertiary colleges).- Quality assurance and editing.

- Principal management of and assistance in Basic Assessments, Scoping and Environmental Impact Assessments projects.- Production and compilation of Basic Assessment Reports, Scoping Reports, Environmental Impact Reports and Environmental Management Plans for various projects. - Management of the Public Participation Process.- Interaction and collaboration with clients and members of the project team.- Compilation and submission of various tenders. - Office Administration: petty cash reconciliation, filing, management of various databases- Compilation and submission of Supplier Database Registration forms for various local and district municipalities, as well as parastatals.
