My role is to manage the delivery of clear and meaningful communications across a variety of channels to meet the needs of the Members, Clients and the Trustee, in line with Railpen’s strategic vision.

Creating high-quality, member-focused content for this leading pensions scheme administrator and its third party clients

I managed the day-to-day PR activities and long-term PR strategy for both the organisation as a whole and the seven individual destinations contained within it, including Auckland Castle. Proud achievements included:- positive PR coverage reaching upwards of 150m people per year for three succesive years- securing high-profile appearances on BBC Breakfast and Channel 5's Digging Up Britain's PastGeneral responsibilities included:• Serving as the primary media contact and hosting visits for regional, national & international press • Writing and editing content, including targeted press releases, web stories, printed materials & presentations • Briefing senior managers and colleagues in preparation for media interviews and other events • Evaluating media coverage• Commissioning film and video content, including managing IP agreements • Managing the PR budget

Key achievements:• successfully launching three new visitor attractions – Mining Art Gallery, Auckland Tower, Auckland Castle – with national and regional press achieved for each • representing the organisation at an event in New York, alongside the CEO and one of our Trustees • establishing an internal communications strategy to engage the organisation's 100+ staff• taking part in every session of The Auckland Project's Management Training Programme• helping to keep the team motivated during a complex re-brand and cultural shift

I worked on behalf of a wide range of clients, operating in sectors from the leisure and hospitality to green energy, entertainment and education. Duties included writing news releases and features, maintaining social media accounts, managing events and press calls and assisting with awards applications.

I managed a portfolio of 10 clients, compiling written material, organising events, drafting storyboards and scripts for promotional videos and news reports and designing corporate literature. I was also part of the company's on-call team.

I was employed on a temporary contract to assist the communications team at Stockton Borough Council with media inquiries, press releases and their in-house magazine. This followed a successful period of work experience, which I undertook at the council during a summer break at university.
