I am a Health Services and Policy Research PhD student at Boston University School of Public Health. As a T-32 Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Research Trainee, my research interests revolve around health disparities and the intersection of immigrant and refugee health and preventive health services, notably vaccinations.At the University of Bergen, I received my Master of Philosophy in Global Development, specializing in Health Promotion. My research culminated in a thesis titled, "Applying the socioecological model to illuminate nuance in collaborative functioning: Trust and overcoming SARS-CoV-2 vaccine hesitancy in the Somali communities in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, US and Bergen, Vestland, Norway." This work not only fortified my commitment to impactful research but also cemented my dedication to exploring the intricate intersection of immigrant and refugee health with preventive health services.While serving as a Project Coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospital's Cancer Center, I gained invaluable experiences, particularly in projects such as CANVAX and in transitioning thoracic oncology research data systems to REDCap. My contributions to the Cancer Outcomes Research and Education Program further enriched my journey in the realm of healthcare.Beginning my academic voyage at Tufts University, I was honored with the Seymour S. Bellin Research Award and inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society, having graduated Summa Cum Laude in Community Health.I'm eager to connect with fellow professionals and researchers to exchange knowledge and insights.
