Claire Regnault Email and Phone Number
I have been working as a curator in the art gallery and museum sector since 1994. My curatorial practice is eclectic in nature, ranging from contemporary art and design to Hip Hop, craft practices, social history and dress. I am particularly passionate about New Zealand's fashion history. I am the author of New Zealand Gown of the Year (2003), and co-author of The Dress Circle: New Zealand Fashion Design Since 1940 (2010), which was a finalist in the 2011 NZ Post Book Awards. I am an active member of the Costume & Textile Association of NZ, and regularly contribute to the association's symposia and journal.I hold the position of Senior Curator - NZ Culture & History at Te Papa, New Zealand's innovative national museum. As well as curating several fashion and costume-related exhibitions for Te Papa, I have also lead the development of Te Papa's First World War Centenary programme, which has included exhibitions, publications, outreach and online projects. In 2015 I was thrilled to be involved in the development and delivery of the Federation of International Human Rights Museums conference which focused on 'Access as a human right'.
