At Enel X, we help businesses turn their energy use into a competitive advantage. As the manager of industry engagement and regulatory affairs, I advocate for energy market design changes that recognise and reward the role the demand side can play in delivering a cheap, reliable and secure supply of electricity.

In this role I led and sponsored a range of system security and reliability reforms, including: a review of the NEM's frequency control framework; an overhaul of the rules by which generators and loads connect to the transmission network; and the design of a competitive distribution market to enable customers to get the most out of their DER.

In this role I provided policy input and project managed several distribution network reforms, including the rule change that set up the framework for the competitive rollout of advanced metering in the NEM. I also led the Commission's work on assessing the regulatory barriers to the integration of energy storage.

In this role I represented the interests of the Department and its stakeholders in the resources and energy sectors in the repeal of the carbon pricing mechanism and the implementation of the new government’s Direct Action Plan.

In this role I developed and represented Australia’s carbon capture and storage (CCS) policies and programs through bilateral relationships and participation in international forums.

I undertook three rotations across the Department in the areas of industrial energy efficiency policy, international CCS policy, and uranium and nuclear policy. Key achievements in these roles include: providing advice on the viability of an energy savings initiative in Australia’s industrial sector; and developing a suite of guidance documents to support the Uranium Council’s transport strategy.
