I have run sell-out writing workshops at the Sydney Writers' Festival for many years.

I am a professional full-time writer. My first book, Last Seen in Lhasa was published in 2006 by Random House, and has become a travel writing classic. Penguin published my second book, The Pagoda Tree, a novel, chosen by Good Reading magazine as one of their Best Fiction Reads 2013. In 2015, my third book, Basser, Baxter & Goldstein, a company autobiography about the Kensington Colleges at UNSW was released.

I review fiction and non-fiction books.

I run five-week and weekend, Creative Writing, Advanced Fiction & Travel Memoir workshops.

I worked as a feature and a travel journalist.

I researched and wrote feature articles.
