I joined Mouchel as a graduate civil engineer in September 1998, working on a range of coastal design projects including ports and marinas in the UK and Middle East. In April 2000 I was given the opportunity to transfer to the corporate division of the group for an 18 month placement, working directly with the CEO and non-executive directors to develop and manage a research centre (in partnership with Cranfield School of Management) and an e-business strategy group. In December 2001 I was appointed as the Group Marketing Manager for Mouchel, responsible for building a new central marketing team, management of sales and marketing initiatives and delivery of corporate development work to ensure the successful flotation of the group and its subsequent merger with Parkman.
