An experienced project and people manager, with over 20 years of social and economic research experience. I am highly experienced in designing, delivering and managing quantitative and qualitative research, and have particular expertise in engaging seldom heard communities. I enjoy exploring the ‘so what?’ element of research, co-creating actionable recommendations and disseminating findings in an easily digestible way for a range of audiences. Meaningful engagement and ‘closing the feedback loop’ are important to me. I also have an excellent working knowledge of a wide range of methodologies and technical guidance including the Treasury’s Green Book, Magenta Book and the ‘Five Case’ Business Case Model.I am driven to try to make a difference to communities by increasing communities' voices in decision making, reducing inequalities and creating fairer, more engaged and cohesive communities. One of my favourite jobs was setting up a social enterprise - a pet supply store called Pet Society - which created employment opportunities, encouraged responsible pet ownership, and brought additional income into the charity I worked for. In addition to consultancies, I have also worked in city regional local government, neighbourhood management, an African NGO, and at one time in my life I was a registered Environmental Health Officer!
