"You're in Human Resources? Oh, I'm not saying anything to you." Despite being a little harsh, this was a real sentence I heard when telling people I had a Human Resources internship. Luckily, my internship at LandMark Implement taught me what HR entails and how to advocate for it appropriately. During this internship, I was able to present to leadership our company's engagement statistics and ideas on how to best grow employee scores in areas such as recognition. With this presentation, I was also able to provide insight for our owners on each generation's wants and desires in a job and how we can best facilitate these.Having held this internship and leadership positions in multiple organizations and clubs, I have an immense amount of hands-on experience leading groups and developing individuals. As I continue along my career path, I hope to gain more experience in these areas to better myself and others to be a valuable asset to a company.Graduating in 2025, I am ideally looking for an internship with a company that has a people operations department or is looking to develop one as I one day hope to be a company leader in this area. Using my knowledge from my previous HR internship as well as my experience as a certified trainer, I will apply my understanding to increase employee engagement and, therefore, create a more satisfied, dedicated, and successful workplace.
