Biology 410: Life Cycle of a Neuron.I designed and co-taught a 20-student course for upper-level undergraduates at UW.

After four years working as a TA at the MBL Neurobiology Course, I was promoted to a faculty position in my fifth year at the course. In this role, I helped to design projects for the Genomics Bootcamp section, led bioinformatics lessons, and coordinated groups working on different organisms, across both wet lab and dry lab settings.

I served as lead TA for the Genomics Bootcamp section of the Neurobiology course at MBL, each June from 2015 - 2018. This course is a high intensity introduction for graduate students through faculty members to cutting edge neurobiological research. As TA, I facilitated preparation of RNA-Seq libraries and taught bioinformatics analyses to analyze these data computationally.

Plan and implement experiments exploring the development of sensory dendrites in C. elegans.Manage organization of the lab, from ordering supplies to scheduling meetings.

Worked in a high school classroom as an assistant to a local Chilean English teacher, motivating students to practice their foreign language skills.

Led study groups of peers. Helped Bowdoin students to improve their quantitative reasoning skills.

Completed a year long research project on the role of semaphorin in compensatory neuronal growth in the cricket auditory system, primarily using the techniques of RT-QPCR and RNAi. Presented research in poster and talk format, as well as writing a culminating honors paper.
