About Claire Burchell
With over a year of experience as a Qualified Teacher and a Family Worker, I have developed a range of competencies that enable me to support and inspire children and families in various settings and contexts. I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, a specialism in Art and an MA degree in Contemporary Fine Art, which have equipped me with quantitative and qualitative research skills and a passion for art and creativity. I am also a Trauma Model Practitioner, a Phonics Specialist, and a committee member for Roots to the Future. This initiative educates military personnel on growing food production and reducing environmental impact. I work as a cover teacher in primary and secondary schools, ranging from phonics delivery in EYFS to A-Level lessons. I currently volunteer at the RAF Benevolent Fund, where I facilitate workshops and activities that promote well-being and resilience among military families and children, such as gardening, cooking, mindfulness, and yoga. I apply the Trauma Recovery Model in my work with children who have suffered trauma and help them cope with their emotions and behaviours. As a Substitute Teacher at Opus Education Recruitment, I also teach and inspire students across various subjects and levels. I use my PGCE and MA to integrate art and creativity into learning. Additionally, I have recently launched my Earth Play in Education Services business model to develop lessons in climate change and environmental awareness for schools and communities. I have strong analytical research skills and great ability for thesis writing and presentation of new data.
