Luton Youth Offending & Targeted Youth Support Service
Luton Youth Offending Service is a multi-disciplinary partnership of Local Authority, National Probation Service, Police, Health & Wellbeing Board with a remit under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to prevent and reduce youth involvement with the justice system. Services include;• Targeted youth and early help• Triage and appropriate adult • Statutory supervision of Court Orders • Diverse partnership work • Specialist assessment and local protocols for harmful sexual behaviour• Intensive family support.Delivering individual, group and matrix management supervision of a range of workers including youth workers, youth justice workers, social work qualified workers, probation officers, health clinicians from a range of health disciplines, restorative justice and victim support workers, educations/SEND workers and family support workers to ensure operational effectiveness 7 days a week.Day-to-day safeguarding practice involving complex partnership safeguarding arrangements including adults and children in response to critical public protection or individual safeguarding incidents, looked after child arrangements, MAPPA, MARAC, VARAC etc.Other management oversight responsibilities; performance management, safer recruitment, audit for improvement. Critical learning review, rapid review, improvement planning.Operational oversight, risk management panels, countersigning risk assessment and public protection documentation, negotiating supervision and case responsibility arrangements with other areas.Lead delivery and partnership work included;• Delivery of victim support, restorative justice services • Delivery of harmful sexual behaviour services• Partnership work for missing children, child sexual exploitation, county-lines/OCG activity• Delivery of health outcomes • Delivery EET outcomes
