As an account manager, I managed the media planning and buying on Nescafé. Working across all media - TV, Press, Radio, Posters and Online. My role comprised of writing the media strategy, liaising with the media buyers, planning the media as well as building strong relationships and liaising with the marketing department at Nescafé. Other responsibilities included liaising with the media sales houses, and wider communication teams.A part part of my role was leading and managing the sponsorship of Hollyoaks which Nescafé undertook. This involved managing the wider communication teams inc PR, below the line, etc as well as building strong relations with Phil Redmond and his team, in Liverpool. In my media career, this was my favourite project ever, and was so fun to be involved in. I was also instrumental in helping to create a bespoke piece of charity programming using some of the Hollyoaks actors. It was based on homelessness, which was aired on Channel 4 paid for by Nescafé.

At Manning Gottlieb Media, I had the privilege of managing the media planning and buying on some fantastic top brands such as, Nike, French Connection, Starbucks, Virgin Atlantic and Nicole Fahri.MGM was a trendy media agency to work at in the late Noughties, it was very successful in attracting some of the big “cool” clients, such as Nike, Sony and Virgin. Excellent experience for me, my clients were open to new ideas and “guerrilla marketing”, so less traditional than my previous role. My responsibilities included media strategy, implementing the planning and buying and liaising with creative agencies to deliver a unified approach. Working on Nike was brilliant fun and exciting. Their advertising was reactive, very much guided by news stories, as well as the cool celebrity awareness advertising.I loved Starbucks too, very different to Nike, at the time they were very small in the UK but very open to creativity, which enabled us to implement some innovative campaigns.

Mediavest was my first media agency, I worked as a Media Planner on Mars Confectionery and The Evening Standard. Media Audits was my first media position following my graduation. It started as receptionist / PA, where I was front of house at the consultancy. My role included meeting and greeting clients, preparing administration documents for the account management team, and general office work. After 6 months, I was invited to work with one of the account teams as an Account Executive. Within this role, I acquired a variety of skills from, researching, presentation preparation and delivery, and client servicing. I worked across a variety of sectors including motor, newspapers, coffee. This role gave me great experience and enabled me to move into the media agency side.
