Senior Engineer
CurrentBechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. is a prime contractor for the United States Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program responsible for providing design, manufacturing, and procurement management for the fabrication, testing, delivery, installation, and field support of high quality nuclear power plant components for installation in submarines and aircraft carriers.As a senior engineer, I manage multiple projects which requires detailed project planning and scheduling. In this role, I am focusing more on research and development projects (as opposed to production focus in my previous roles) which requires frequent interaction with a broad range of customer personnel, supplier personnel, and management. My role involves a wide range of responsibilities such as development of technical requirements, placement of contracts, management of project performance at suppliers, and reporting progress to my management and customers. I am also responsible for developing independent cost estimates to support negotiations during procurements.Recently, I was selected to participate on a team for a high visibility, company-wide project that requires creative problem solving and detailed project planning. This experience has helped me to further refine my project management and communication skills. Effective project management and communication is essential in this project because it is fast paced and frequently evolving.
