I'm Claire Duckworth, a Kentucky-based graphic designer who thrives on finding just the right combination of line, shape, and color that causes someone else to smile.As someone who likes to ponder the “little things” in life, my designs aim to amplify those “little things” into “not-so-little” things—if only for just a moment. Fascinated by the idea that one can tell a story using line, shape, and color, I often find myself drawn toward using clean lines, fun shapes, and bright colors to create warm stories. As I became dazzled by the magic that can happen when combining vibrant colors and beautiful letterforms, typography became a passion and a hobby. Soon, layout design became a way to wrap up line, shape, color, and typography into an aesthetically pleasing package that delivers a message and a feeling to anyone who opens it.In a world that is constantly moving, my goal is to cause an audience to stop, think, and be reminded that we all are human—that we’ve all made mistakes, that sometimes we’re sad, but that there is something out there that can make every one of us happy again. If an idea of mine can turn into something that stirs up a happy memory, elicits a chuckle, or even brings a tear to an eye—my design has accomplished exactly what it was created to do.
