I was delighted to have had the opportunity in this role to usher the Club into a new era as a major events and conference and banqueting resource in the North West – and to boost income across the Club’s assets – by devising an events strategy and coaching staff in all aspects of operations, ticketing, sales, catering, security, safety and tours. I was pleased that my management of events, conferencing and tours teams delivered an increase in annual profits of 28%. This involved establishing structural changes to allow the Club to be able to host live music concerts at Anfield, as well as procuring providers to carry out £2M construction works, and ensuring that operational and safety manuals were in place to meet statutory and corporate requirements. Crucial to success in this was my ability to facilitate management of internal and external stakeholders including marketing, communications, PR, digital internal departments, promoters and local agencies to attract and deliver major events. Operationally, I directed partnership, club conference and banqueting events representing budgets of >£3.2M, including supporting all stadium operations at Anfield in relation to catering, hospitality, operational facilities and safety.

As founder and managing director of this national agency, I specialised in overseeing delivery of a range of brand campaigns, sport participation, and outdoor live events for clients including the UK and Scottish Governments, UEFA, BBC, MTV Europe, Coca Cola, Siemens, John Lewis and Police Scotland. I directed teams to conceptualise content for client-centred events and managed efficient and sustainable event delivery, through devising operating plans for clients which encompassed site, safety and evaluation for events and venues. Additionally, as the agency was my own business, I ran and controlled business performance, including developing company policy, brand and image, and managing financial forecasting,.

Work with the host city Glasgow to deliver the out of venue operations for Olympic Football competition on behalf of LOCOG.This role entailed liaising with key City partners within the local authority, police, Hampden Stadium and Glasgow 2014. Lead on the communications between Glasgow City Council, Strathclyde Police and LOCOG, create the event One Plan, C3 structure and strategic partner delivery.

Events Manager for Glasgow's new and Iconic destination and attraction. I am responsible for the creation and management of an exciting and sustainable events programme that will attract world wide media attention as well as reflect the investment and importance of the Scotland's newest Transport Museum.

Managed a team of up to 17 people, delivering events with budgets of excess of £1million for local authority.Created commercial opportunities and new event sites and concepts for events including the World Pipe Band Championships, BBC Proms In The Park, Winterfest Glasgow, Glasgow's Hogmanay and Merchant City Festival.Managed all stakeholder groups and support service relationships including Event Scotland, Creative Scotland, Sport Scotland, RSPBA and BBC. Delivered continually on budget and motivated staff in order for them to achieve their own progression and development. Whilst managing the Cultural programme for the City of Glasgow I undertook and achieved a Masters Degree in International Events Management, PRINCE2, Excellence in Events Management Certification and created a student mentor programme as well as representing the department on a number of internal forums.
