As a child, I wanted to become a family lawyer to help protect those who couldn't protect themselves. When I became an attorney, I soon realized that typical high-conflict divorce litigation made an already painful process worse. These cases destroyed relationships, ruined people financially, and caused children to endure unnecessary trauma.I knew there had to be a different way where couples could end their relationship in the best way possible for all parties involved, particularly their children.I founded Claire Samuels Law, PLLC to help couples divorce as amicably as possible through collaboration, mediation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. While I am a “warrior” who advocates for my clients, I do so peacefully. I educate my clients on all possible options and empower them to make decisions from a place of strength and not from fear. My clients know that I see them, hear them, and ensure they are cared for. They trust my advice and appreciate the compassion that I bring to their case.My approach, called A Becoming Divorce ™, addresses this process holistically and aims to preserve civility in a relationship so that divorced parents can still raise healthy and well-adjusted children. It enables divorce proceedings to be private, more efficient, and less expensive than a courtroom battle.Divorce is more than a couple going their separate ways. It can be a pivotal moment in a person's life that allows for positive transformation. However, many people need support to help them become that new person.
