Downside Up is the Russian Federation's groundbreaking non-profit, community-based "early intervention" service for children with Down syndrome and developmental disability. As Downside Up's first Executive Director, Claire conceived of and shaped Downside Up's professional scope of services -a pioneering educational and social service- which was a first-of-its-kind special needs education program in Russia. Claire was recruited to establish and manage what quickly became a highly successful early growth period. She oversaw all aspects of daily operations of the philanthropic start-up, staff and services and facilities including the raising of and management of its operating corpus.
