Claire is a board-certified music therapist, end of life doula and certified dementia practitioner who has a passion for working with seniors and their families. She has over a decade of experience working with the geriatric population. After working as a geriatric care manager and a music therapist with ElderTree Care Management, Claire went on to work for Capital Caring Hospice as the volunteer manager for the Loudoun County region and the Adler Center for Caring, an in-patient hospice unit. Claire has experience providing services for a variety of clients, including individuals with various stages of dementia and other types of cognitive impairment, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, Alzheimer’s disease, mental health concerns and clients receiving hospice services. She has also worked as the music therapist and recreation coordinator in the life enrichment/programming department at two different large continuing care retirement communities. She has worked with individuals in skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, and memory care. Claire created and led music groups and other forms of physical, cognitive, intellectual, and spiritual engagement, such as yoga and weekly worship services. Claire is passionate about person-centered care and ensuring that every older adult thoroughly enjoys life in their own way and that they are set up for success by receiving the care and love that they need and deserve. She is also passionate about providing compassionate care at the end of life and during the active dying process and advocates for every individual and family that she works with.
