About Claire Nicolas

I’m a London-based French film programmer with experience developing special seasons in cinemas as well as coordinating events and screenings and building social media and engagement strategies for festivals.More specifically, I recently worked for the BFI's 68th London Film Festival as a Regional and Digital Screenings Coordinator, as well as a Programming assistant for the Cine Lumiere in London where I initiated a collaboration with the Tate Britain around their exhibition Women in Revolt (March 2024). I am also a film programmer and outreach manager for Films of Resistance, a collective that aims to raise awareness and money in support of Palestinian cinema.Prior to that, I worked for 7 years marketing and advertising, where I developed strong intercommunication skills, creative thinking, proactivity and reactivity as well as a strong attention to detail. I have good experience managing budgets and tight timings, negotiation of rights (in films and advertising). Skills I can bring to any organisations.Although curious about all genres, I have a particular interest in women cinema, films that challenge the preconceptions, redefine the roles of marginalised communities and films that tell stories of sisterhood, hardship and rebellion.
