Secondment to work on a cross-border coastal protection project in Togo and Benin, West Africa. My responsibilities have included writing and implementing Environmental and Social Management Plans. This has included carrying out tasks relating to water quality management, biodiversity impact management, social impacts management through stakeholder engagement meetings and TV segments, designing and implementing worker and community grievance mechanisms, and more.

My role involved conducting desk-based research on global best practices within challenging time constraints to develop experimental initiatives for Morrisons to help solve issues of food poverty in areas close to their stores. It also included analysing and synthesising extensive range of potential solutions for local supply chains and formatting results into logical practitioner-oriented database. This position has also involved planning and participating in local listening workshops and engaging diverse stakeholders including growers, food producers and retail teams.

Analysed characteristics of numerous supermarket’s own brand breads including supply chain and product makeup and synthesised information into presentation detailing the importance of sustainable production and sustainably sourced ingredients. Further element of role involved communicating with consumers at events and supermarkets about impact of responsible consumer choices on environment.

Helped to lead focus groups and interviews for Scottish Government initiative ‘Energy Efficient Scotland’ which will aim to make all buildings in Scotland reach an Energy Efficiency C Rating by 2035. Also conducted extensive desk-based research that provided strategy for creative team to develop successful advertising campaigns, including Famous Grouse and Dobbie’s.
