I am a CIPD qualified HR professional with 20+ years’ work experience within the NHS, public and third sector, including a senior strategic management role managing a large departmental staff at the Harrogate & District Foundation Trust.Since 2011, I have served clients as an independent consultant, essentially managing my own small business. My expertise includes employee relations in a unionised environment, investigations, recruitment practices, change management, TUPE regulations, developing policies and procedures, increasing staff engagement, as well as coaching, training and developing team members.One of my key points of difference is a keen sense of commercial and financial understanding. This allows me to create down-to-earth, business-focused approaches to HR issues. My financial capabilities include budgeting and expenditure control. I also have board level experience.My managerial skills also include setting targets and strategies to achieve them, managing stakeholders, and leading small teams. My peers consider me to be a HR expert. I am proud to say that throughout my career, I have consistently exceeded performance targets.On the personal side, I am a determined, well organised individual, capable of prioritising and managing multiple tasks with close attention to detail. I am adaptable and an analytical problem solver with an ability to strengthen existing and acquire new skills.
