Head Of Adult Services
Current- Managed a department of eight professionals and two support staff, with a focus on fostering staff growth and creating opportunities for innovative projects and services.- Provided in-depth training to all 56 library employees whenever a new Library resource was adopted, keeping staff up-to-date on new technology and resources. - Established new positions in the department to head the implementation of core technology classes, diverse programming, and community outreached. In less than 2 years, library program options went from an average of 2 per month to over 20.- Managed a 400K materials budget, including print, electronic, periodical and audio-visual collections.- Collaborated with department heads and the Board of Trustees in the development of the Library’s strategic plan, including implementation of public surveys, policy review, mission statement review, and goal development.- Created new technology education team to lead the way for new virtual instruction resources, and more in-depth class options.- Established new library services, including public notaries and voter registration.- Implemented new outreach services to the Center for Enriched Living, the Deerfield Chamber of Commerce, Gidwitz Senior Living Center, and One Deerfield Place Senior Living Center.- Oversaw the curation of new library collections, including specialized collections for Alzheimer’s and memory care patients, ESL students, and sight-impaired patrons. - Created new rubric for statistics and record keeping, which keeps the director and Board of Trustees well appraised of department goals and progress.- Lead the Adult Services department through building renovation and relocation. - Wrote and implemented policies for new services and resources.
