After much research I noted that Candles were a strong market and something that would perform well within the tourist sector. Even allowing for the interference of Covid, the company performed really well and predicted growth was such that I was able to sell.

Short term contract with Esteem to develop and run a new training product for construction managers, offered by CSCS. The product did very well and was a success for Esteem.

• Contracted to Microsoft as Project Manager for their annual TechEd event (TechEd is a three day event with approximately 2,500 attendees per day).
• Project Manager role involved management of overall team, project plan, ongoing marketing, account/budget ownership, report to management team and key sponsors.
• The opportunity to work within Microsoft NZ presented a great opportunity. The Project Manager role was challenging, but ultimately rewarding and taught me a great deal.

• Account Manager for key clients – direct client contact and overall responsibility for the planning and execution of the event.
• Budget creation and management of ongoing accounts.
• Responsible for marketing of each event, including creation of websites, communication plan, itineraries and brochures.
• Development of creative pitches –liaising with suppliers, putting together presentation documents, sourcing visual aids, budget outlines and ultimately presenting to the client.
• As a new company we had to develop systems and practices from scratch and I was a significant part of this development – and the continued review of existing practices.
• Responsible for contract staff. Also managing external partners – IT support, travel brokers.

• Operated several events within New Zealand and overseas.
• Responsible for setting up a new structure for all internal business practices
• This role allowed me to draw on my experiences from my role in the UK whilst learning to adjust to the subtle differences of working within a new country.

• Research of European and overseas conference and incentive destinations, including onsite inspections and client meetings.
• Responsible for the research and writing of all client pitches.
• Development of client proposal, including creative presentation and cost breakdown.
• Planning and execution of client programme, from the invitation of all participants, on site operational documents, travel arrangements and final client invoicing.
• Developed a new proposal structure for all teams to follow within the UK offices.
