I am particularly interested in the application of procedural justice approaches to corrections, which prioritise fairness and respect in interactions between criminal justice professionals and individuals under their supervision.My current research focuses is on evaluating the effectiveness of a training program designed to improve communication in correctional settings, with the goal of promoting procedural justice principles. I have also investigated the impact of interview quality on decision making in the risk assessment of juvenile sex offenders, using a mixed-methods research approach that incorporated quantitative surveys and qualitative semi-structured interviews.Overall, I am dedicated to promoting evidence-based practices in the criminal justice system that prioritise fairness and respect, and I believe that procedural justice approaches have the potential to significantly improve outcomes for both individuals under correctional supervision and criminal justice professionals.Yoga is also a passion of mine. For a number of years, I have been facilitating regular trauma informed yoga classes with different vulnerable populations such as inmates at a women's prison, a veterans group, and a DV group. I also host corporate classes, and regular classes at my own studio.
