I am an LSU Architect with a minor in Environmental Sciences and currently doing a Masters in Landscape Architecture. I am an enthusiast on sustainable design, and I am researcher on green roof technology and green infrastructure at the LSU Coastal Ecosystem Design Studio.I want to keep learning how to merge design and ecology to address environmental issues in our communities and improve their resiliency.I believe designers have the power to change the world. In the face of a climatic and environmental crisis, designers have an important role to play: we shape the cities where we live in. So, it is our responsibility to design with the environment in mind. Most of my life I have lived in Venezuela, where climate change has impacted very strongly our quality of life, leading to water and power insecurity; resource scarcity; political, social and economic instability, poverty and misery. Those adversities propelled me to be part of the solution by designing sustainable and resilient cities in vulnerable places, such as my own country and the greater Caribbean.
