As the Community Sponsorship Coordinator at Lutheran Social Services of NE Florida, I bring my extensive background in community support and engagement to help sponsor refugees and immigrants, ensuring their successful integration into our community. In my previous role as an ESOL Instructor at Catholic Charities of Jacksonville, I utilized my expertise in adult education and attention to detail to help immigrants and refugees learn English and achieve their goals. With over a decade of experience in literacy and education, I have worked with diverse and underserved populations, demonstrating a strong commitment to empowering individuals through education.My professional journey includes serving as a Volunteer Coordinator and AmeriCorps Program Director at Literacy Alliance of Northeast Florida, where I managed and trained volunteers, developed curriculum, and oversaw grant reporting and compliance. Prior to that, I was a Literacy Program Specialist at Jacksonville Public Library, coordinating and delivering literacy services and programs to adults and families.I hold a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of North Florida and am fluent in Spanish. My passion lies in fostering a culture of inclusion and respect, continuously learning new skills, and collaborating with others to contribute to the mission of Lutheran Social Services of NE Florida.
