MSc Thesis: Effects of gradual chemical additions on phosphorus mobilization and macrophyte growth in peat lake Terra NovaMy thesis is part of the project "IJzersuppletie in laagveenplassen" - Iron addition in lake Terra Nova in cooperation with NIOO and Waternet. The lake has been gradually treated with iron chloride. Furthermore, a mesocom experiment was set up to investigate the gradual addition of treatments such as PAC, AlCl, Phoslock and Phoslock+. Sediment cores from lake Terra Nova and the mesocoms were used to measure nutrient release from the sediment with a focus on phosphorus/ phosphate. Furthermore, effect of treatments on Elodea nuttallii (Nuttall's waterweed) have been studied.
