As choir Founder, I maintain all mailing lists, organize, write, arrange and send out music, find venues for performances and co-ordinate volunteers. As choir director, I am running weekly rehearsals and providing individual coachings and small-group rehearsals. I am the rehearsal accompanist as well as choral director. For shows, I co-ordinate other musicians, providing them with music or recordings and set up rehearsal times.

Every term is different, but in our Winter class of 2012, our 10-week term consisted of writing our own play. We began brainstorming ideas of characters and character development, talking about a story-line and how a plot needs to unfold, different stage techniques that can be used, writing and memorizing a script and incorporating familiar songs to create a flow and feature singers. In the past, classes have been given scripts with music and were in charge of the direction and choreography of the musical.

A 3-month contract job to cover someone on leave. Very rewarding.

As Director of OMMC you are in charge of the hiring and training of your staff, 7-8 people. The camp is a live-in 2 week camp in August, but the co-ordination, staff meetings and board meetings happen throughout the year. The ages of the youth are 12-16 with a "Leader in Training" program for the ages between camper and Counselor. All staff are on call 24 hours a day. The Director writes-out a camp schedule, and oversees masterclasses, choir practice, rehearsal time, recreation time, outside recreation (and organizing a bus accordingly), Sunday service, a final show (including volunteers to set-up, decoration committee, a venue), organizing kitchen details (and making sure the kitchen is aware of ALL allergies), ensuring there is a staff member who is qualified with First Aid and medication distribution, setting a time for camp pictures and individual head-shots. The Camp Director is required to be on-call for campers as well as parents, to provide waivers and forms for all legalities, e-mail families leading up to camp and provide parents/guardians with all information about the camp, our whereabouts at all times and public concerts that they are invited to attend. As Camp Director you are also in charge are coordinating room-bookings with Conrad Grebel college (including 2-week residence, multiple daily classrooms) projector/technical needs bookings and web-site updates with staff profiles, pictures and promotional material.

Individual piano lessons, grades 1-8, using Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum.

As house manager, you are in charge of the other staff on duty, including ushers, coat check and concession. You are the primary contact for the technical director on staff and you co-ordinate the beginning, intermission and ending of each performance/lecture through intercom with the stage hands and staff in the sound booth. You are the main representative of Wilfrid Laurier for patrons and any complaints or suggestions reported to the HM are directly brought to the attention of the Performance Facilities Manager, a full-time staff position at Wilfrid Laurier University.
