Camp DirectorOntario Mennonite Music Camp 2008 - 2010As Director of OMMC you are in charge of the hiring and training of your staff, 7-8 people. The camp is a live-in 2 week camp in August, but the co-ordination, staff meetings and board meetings happen throughout the year. The ages of the youth are 12-16 with a "Leader in Training" program for the ages between camper and Counselor. All staff are on call 24 hours a day. The Director writes-out a camp schedule, and oversees masterclasses, choir practice, rehearsal time, recreation time, outside recreation (and organizing a bus accordingly), Sunday service, a final show (including volunteers to set-up, decoration committee, a venue), organizing kitchen details (and making sure the kitchen is aware of ALL allergies), ensuring there is a staff member who is qualified with First Aid and medication distribution, setting a time for camp pictures and individual head-shots. The Camp Director is required to be on-call for campers as well as parents, to provide waivers and forms for all legalities, e-mail families leading up to camp and provide parents/guardians with all information about the camp, our whereabouts at all times and public concerts that they are invited to attend. As Camp Director you are also in charge are coordinating room-bookings with Conrad Grebel college (including 2-week residence, multiple daily classrooms) projector/technical needs bookings and web-site updates with staff profiles, pictures and promotional material.
