We typically go through a tender process to win new clients so I am involved in the first meetings, presentations and initial design proposals. Once the business has been won I then become the primary point of contact for the school and I liaise with heads of schools, school business directors and typically the directors of sport to agree the type and style of the new uniform and performance sportswear. Here I was responsible for the day to day running and management of a small boutique shop, being a small start-up business I was able to gain experience in several different areas of the retail industry. This included everything from face to face customer service and bra fittings through to buying the next season’s ranges and all replenishment orders. I was also responsible for all marketing for the shop including designing advertising, arranging promotions and window displays.

Here I was responsible for analysing trends in holiday bookings, increasing or decreasing the price of package holidays and flights according to demand and to maximise seat allocation on flights to the destination that I was responsible for. This gave me experience of examining market trends to maximise potential sales value.
