Previously a chartered engineer, I left the profession after twenty years to pursue new challenges. I now work for a local Hospice at Home charity in the fundraising department in the Trusts team researching and preparing applications to Trusts, Foundations and other grant-givers.In my previous role as Fundraising & Research Assistant I assisted the Philanthropy Manager and the Trust Manager, in carrying out various administration tasks, helping to organise and run MD events, maintaining an accurate record on the fundraising database (Raisers Edge) and writing various trust and grant-giving applications. My previous role as an engineer means I am highly organised with an eye for detail and accuracy and having also spent time working as a project engineer, I understand the project environment which has proven invaluable for writing trust applications.
