I led the Seattle Now production team in making our daily news podcast, the station's most downloaded show. I was responsible for the show's day-to-day management, including making high-level editorial decisions, producing elements of episodes and supervising and training producers and hosts, I also edited each episode of the show and set coverage priorities. I began and executed a number of cross-department collaborations, including launching our Casual Friday Live event series.

I produced KUOW's news podcast, Seattle Now, along with a set of incredibly talented teammates. I pitch and produce two newsy episodes each week that deepen our audience's understanding of the place we call home. I actively work to counter news fatigue in every episode by approaching the story as a listener would, bringing personality and humanity to the conversations we craft. I also helped develop, pilot and launch the show for six months in my role as emerging platforms producer.

I spearheaded KUOW's smart speaker strategy and explored other opportunities for the station to leverage emerging digital platforms, including algorithmic content playlists. I also helped produce KUOW podcasts, worked on podcast strategy and metrics, did fill-in production and reporting work and made lots of excel spreadsheets.

I helped DJ Darek Mazzone put together Wo' Pop, his weekly tour of the world through emerging music. I researched the artists we played (no easy task in some cases!) and wrote for/managed the KEXP real-time playlist during the show. I also assisted with in-studio performances, interacted with listeners and, of course, made sure Darek had plenty of hot tea.
