I supported countries adopting IFRS as law by managing translation and copyright issues, particularly in Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.My responsibilities over the 6+ years I worked at the Foundation included the following: • I put appropriate contracts in place with accounting standard-setters, enabling their countries to publish and adopt IFRS into national law in line with Foundation adoption policy.• I negotiated licence agreements with commercial partners to publish translations in accordance with Foundation copyright policy. • I managed and delivered translations to accounting standard-setters for adoption into law, including translations of IFRS into 21 languages for the European Commission. • I oversaw translation and review of the annual 4000-page compilation of IFRS (the "Red Book") by licensees into multiple languages.• I advised in-country translation partners on setting up processes based on Foundation translation policy, including use of Trados translation memory software. • I led regular face-to-face meetings and calls with high-level officials in government and regulatory bodies (English and Spanish). • I provided directors with written and face-to-face briefings and status reports on key issues. • I presented on Foundation policy at conferences in the UK and South America (in English and Spanish).
