I am accountable for strategic direction and growth of Seven Scent as well as day to day running of the business. My responsibilities include:- Overall business budget control and maximising profits- Formulating strategies and development plans- Leading the business through change management agendas- Organisational development to meet goals and objectives- All aspects of commercial sustainability, development and growth- Building customer relationships

Led a team to deliver all New Product Development projects in the UK for PZ Cussons using stage and gate process including major relaunches of key brands which included Carex, Imperial Leather and Original Source- Organised and chaired fortnightly board reviews, NPD decision making forum with the UK leadership team comprising of the board of directors- Collaborated with the UK marketing and commercial teams to develop project plans and prioritise resource for delivery- Responsible for continuous development of the stage and gate process with NPD managers- Led the team to deliver key margin improvement initiatives within the UK business to enable delivery of circa £0.5 million savings including packaging and formulation

- Full responsibility for delivering all aspects of the operation including safety, quality, cost, OEE, environmental and customer service at >98.5%.The factory delivers 75% of the UK demand across 5 high speed production lines.- Managed, led and developed the factory management team to deliver significant operational improvements through the implementation of a clear 5 year strategic lean programme. This has been cascaded to all employees at the annual site Team building and objectives day.- Led the transfer of operations and employees to a new facility and delivering ahead of original volume and cost expectations. A headcount reduction programme negotiated with Unite the Union.- At the old Kersal Vale factory led the team to win the Manufacturing Institute North West Factory of the year in 2007 & 2008. - The new factory has won ‘The Manufacturer Magazine’ UK Factory of the Year in the category of Operations and Maintenance in 2011.- Factory is accredited in OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.- Year on year cost savings delivered to the business through waste and utility reduction programmes and margin improvement initiatives. - Increased the OEE across all lines from 42% to 72% in 2010/11. This increase led to 3rd party manufacture being brought in-house with a cost saving of £1.5m annually.- Experience of Union pay award negotiations and developing good relationships with the local Unite representative.- Responsible for leading the team to deliver all NPD projects into the factory – developed a DFM (Design for Manufacture) process to ensure new products do not compromise line speeds.

- Full accountability for the operational team at the factory leading a team of 4 shift managers and 1 Process Manager managing 80 employees.- Deputised for Factory Manager at old site for 6 months whilst new factory being built.- Increased safety culture through a hazard report process leading to achievement of the British Safety Council 5* Award. Over 2000 HSR’s raised with 85% action completion rate achieved in 2006/7.- Worked with the Union reps to introduce a 12 hour, 24/6 shift pattern from 3 shift, 24/5. The new pattern generated owed hours for employees to cover colleague’s holidays/sickness absence to minimise O/T. 5 Training days included in pattern.- Selection and recruitment of new Team Leader grade to introduce a ‘self-managed’ teams concept. - Supported the Factory Manager to deliver improvements in all Operational KPI’s which led to PZ Cussons agreeing to build a new factory in the local area and keeping operations in the UK.

- Full accountability for the QA/QC and Micro depts. in the factory with 8 direct reports.- Responsible for the development of all QA procedures and led the team to achieve and retain ISO 9001 and ISO14001 accreditation. - Introduced a QA system into the factory and developed a training programme which allowed the transfer of QC capability and responsibility to the operational team.- Responsible for auditing 3rd party manufacturers and suppliers against the ISO9001 standard and agreeing improvements.- Responsible for introduction of NPD trials and new specifications.
