I currently work in Supported Housing with 16-24 year olds who have either been homeless or at risk of homelessness. My role within Home Group changed last year from Support Coordinator to Client Service Manager. Managing a staff team of seven and a service of eighteen clients. The needs and support for the clients in service range from, but are not inclusive to: budgeting and debt management, gaining access to education and employment, maintaining a tenancy, signposting and supporting access and engagment to Mental Health and Substance Misuse Services, managing offending and risk taking behaviour and ensuring that they are equip to eventually move on into independent living.I liaise frequently with a number of services and agencies such as: Mental Health Services, Youth Offending Team and Probation, the local council, Social Services, the Department of Work and Pensions, local GP's, Commissioners of our service and other services providing care and support. My role as Manager has been to ensure the safety and well being of both staff and clients as well as maintaining consistent compliance within the service in line with company strategy, learning and development, safeguarding, outcomes and health and safety of the scheme.
