A commercially focused financial analyst, I have specialised in credit/risk analysis of financial institutions and have approved major transactions relating to derivatives, financing trades, foreign exchange and leveraged finance. I started my career in investment banking after graduating from Oxford University. A 2-year graduate trainee programme with Kleinwort Benson was followed by a Credit Analyst role with Morgan Stanley and this marked the beginning of a successful 20 year career in this sector. With a palpable passion for analysis, an entrepreneurial nature and excellent client facing skills, I rapidly progressed into senior management roles within the Credit Division. These included Head of Equity Derivatives, Financing and Funds, Head of Emerging Markets and Head of Financial Institutions Credit Research. Alongside this, I was also Chairman of the EMEA Financial Institutions Credit Committee. Leading the analysis of financial institutions required a rigorous, tenacious and far-reaching approach. This involved analysing financial statements, conducting credit research and visiting high profile clients internationally up to CEO level in person to build a complete picture of their business, scrutinise where needed, assess risk and build relationships. In 2012, I took up a post in a new arena with Magdalen School College, Oxford - having worked consistently in high pressure roles whilst my children were young, this represented a chance for me to be available to them as they transitioned into young adulthood! In that role, I oversaw the prestigious Wayneflete Studies Programme and it was a privilege working with outstanding students, teachers and university tutors in delivering this academic programme to 150 students each year. Outside of work, I am passionate about sport, am an avid football supporter (Arsenal season ticket holder) and am Secretary of Aston Rowant Cricket Club.

Sixth formers typically study 4 A Levels and most progress into Oxbridge / Russell Group of Universities. As Programme Coordinator, I had operational oversight for the Wayneflete Studies Programme. Unique to MCS, this is a personal research and academic essay project offered to lower sixth pupils which deepens their curricular studies and supports their application for and transition into University. Pupils select a topic from a wide range of subject areas. I coordinated lectures, seminars and individual face-to-face tutorials for pupils on this programme, acting as the pivotal communication and organisational link between university tutors and the pupil. Tracking the progress of each pupil on the programme using Excel, I ensured pupils met their obligations, diaries were co-ordinated and meetings were attended by external tutors and pupils. Strict adherence to safeguarding regulations was an integral element of this role, involving accurate completion of all related administration for each pupil. Projects are judged by a panel of university experts, pupils present their projects to the college and winners are awarded prizes by the President of Magdalen College, University of Oxford. I organised the annual award dinner for the programme with typically around 120 academics in attendance. Show less
