I have always invested in other people and provided support to enable them to realise the power they have to thrive in whatever way feels meaningful for them. From working as a community support worker, to social work, to overseas housing work, to various voluntary posts, over the years people and community has been at the very heart of what I've done and what I enjoy. This experience has in recent years lead me to co found Venture Zero, a business which is passionate about engaging with communities, connecting with people, and empowering individuals and organisations to invest in themselves, each other, and in the environment. Venture Zero is dedicated to highlighting how the areas of mental health and environmental sustainability are related and I take the mental health lead within the business. At Venture Zero we support organisations to develop a sustainable wellbeing strategy, providing initiatives such as staff engagement workshops, training, purpose driven team building days, and community events which bring the subjects of mental health and climate change together. We also provide sustainable wellbeing information and events to individuals and community groups, connecting people, providing support, opportunity, and generally work towards a more sustainable future for people and planet. A particular passion of mine, is to provide mental health training and over the years I've delivered it to hundreds of individuals, and seen them develop and deepen their understanding of mental health and what it means for them. I have supported businesses to create a culture of support and understanding and ultimately reduce the negative impact of poor mental health on the business. I also coach and mentor trainee MHFA instructors and mentor MHFAiders within the workplace, so they can offer the best support and intervention to those that need it.
