I am a versatile operational and commercial professional with wide-ranging international experience at demanding employers in private and public sectors, including eight years in diplomatic / operational roles for the UK government’s Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and four years leading marine conservation and leisure businesses in Fiji.Highlights include representing the UK government while forging partnerships with other governments and NGOs in Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, the USA and Canada.Promoted by the FCO to lead all non-diplomatic activity at the British Embassy in Baku, I achieved a step change in operational efficiency, then pioneered a series of turnarounds in Fiji, initially transforming the GVI Marine Conservation Project, where I worked closely with locals to improve reef conservation.During my four and a half years in the Pacific, I also generated 300% sales growth at an eco-dive resort and headed a comprehensive renovation programme for Cathay Hotels, where I led a team of 80 across five locations and owned a £2.5M P&L.My core strengths lie in combining meticulous operational efficiency with creative, entrepreneurial commercial strategies, as well as an ability to build successful partnerships with diverse, multicultural people from a wide range of organisations.Much of my career success so far has come from a knack for getting the best out of people; motivating and inspiring cohesive, collaborative teams of direct and indirect reports, as well as influencing and engaging with different stakeholders to build the shared vision that delivers optimal results. I have a passion for coaching and mentoring, as well as for contributing to sustainable, environmentally focused working cultures and conservation efforts.Having returned to the UK in 2018 and completed a career break, I’ve just taken on a new challenge working as a Producer/Event Manager for Culture Creative which allows me to utilise skills from across my varied background.
