The Starfish Group was formed following the discovery of the Starfish fable where a man is walking along a beach, littered with starfish. He sees a young lady throwing starfish into the ocean. "What are you doing" he asks. "These starfish are dying in the sun so I'm throwing them back into the water" she replies. "What difference do you think you're going to make - there are thousands?" She replied "I'm making a difference to this one". We can't help everyone in life, but we can help the ones we can.After a 23 year career at the BBC, facing redundancy, I had no idea what I was going to do - traditional businesses cost thousands to start, and retraining costs a lot of money and time. In 2005 I came across Forever, The Aloe Vera Company and fell in love with not only the products, but also the ethical business model as a way to not only have my own flexible business, but also help nurture, coach and mentor others to take back control of their lives too. I am also now a licensee of The Wellness Rack, a B2B opportunity to support business in the health and wellness sectors, by offering an extra service to their clients/customers/staff.I love business networking and helping connect other businesses together, and spent 3 years running a Networking Franchise with WIBN across 5 groups in NW London, and continue to be an active business networker today wherever I live.In September 2018, because I'm passionate that good health is not just about the body, but the mind too, I started a professional qualification as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, graduating June 2019. As well as having my own private practice - Starfish Hypnotherapy, I also work part-time with SanaMente Hypnotherapy in Leicester and am a Strive Mentor for them as well. I am also a "CatchPTSD" therapist, and an EFT/Tapping practitioner.I am love supporting small charities and doing voluntary work, and following a move to Nottingham in 2017, I became a Soroptimist and am really enjoying volunteering/fundraising/giving service with this wonderful organisation, which helps transform the lives women and girls around the world.Starfish have 5 arms, and I have 5 aspects to what is important to me:-1. I love helping people grow and develop and have undertaken extensive trainings over the years in self development, mindset, mental health and nutrition.When we relocated to the Nottingham/Lincoln borders, near Grantham, to be nearer to family, it coincided with our son leaving for university, so I found myself to be an empty nester! I got involved in charity work, to meet more people and give back, received hypnotherapy personally and found it to be absolutely fantastic.So, when a course came up to learn how to actually become a hypnotherapist, it sang to me - it sits with my core values of helping people become the best they can be, with integrity, empathy and dignity.And so STARFISH HYPNOTHERAPY was born and in 2018 I embarked on the journey to qualify as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. Since qualifying in June 2019, I already have over 1500 hours of clients under my belt and really enjoying helping people change their mindset and get rid of unwanted feelings and behaviours and I love what I do. I am constantly undertaking CPD's to update and advance my skillset. I am also now an EFT Practitioner.I offer free initial consultations so that we can explore where you are now and where you’d like to be.
