A mission trip to the Philippines to rescue and minister to women who have been trafficked into the sex industry. Under the program, we were able to offer choices for the women we ministered to, meaning that we offered funded education, housing, basic human needs and a proper wage. This is a passion of mine - fighting for the least of these - for people who do not have a voice due to the power of others.

To explain the gap in employment: 2015 included the exploration of and immersion in 22 countries. Of this time, volunteer experience was had in China in looking after giants panda bears at a conservation in Chengdu. Networking occurred weekly and opened doors for future employment and contacts globally. This was a year that resulted in a wealth of experience that has been taken not only into daily life but also into the classroom. World awareness and understanding makes a person shine and being able to share this with teenagers and connections, alike, opens doors and minds to more than can be described. It is aspirational for some and I proud to be able to be a representative for the world.
