Clipping patients appropriately per procedure; Scrubbing the patients in prep prior to entry to Theatre; Assisting the Nurses into Theatre; Hanging the Limb and/or positioning the patients; Sterile Scrubbing of patients in Theatre. Turning around [sterilising] Theatres between operations. Closing down Theatres each evening; consisting of moving the operating table and all equipment and deep cleaning all surfaces in preparation for the following day. Running Bloods for Basic GA and Comprehensive profiles. Walking Force Plates to obtain gait analysis of the walk and trot of dogs; to ascertain the level of fore and hind limb lameness.Surgical Duties: Working as part of the team in charge of the cleaning, packaging and sterilisation of all surgical instruments. Responsible for the proper maintenance of specialist equipment, as well as keeping an inventory, and ensuring surgical equipment is restocked. Many of the surgeons have developed different methods of doing the same operation; which often involves different equipment. Therefore, as Surgical Auxiliaries we develop a detailed and in-depth knowledge of each surgeon’s techniques, by frequently liaising with them to understand their specific requirements. A consistent awareness of each days scheduled operations is fundamental in order to pre-plan for operations and remain one step ahead of the surgeons at all times; ensuring that the appropriate instruments are always sterile and ready for surgery. As Surgical Auxiliaries, we have the hands-on role of aiding vets during surgeries, by remaining on standby to supply any further equipment required. -

Worked closely with several Technical Teams in order to report post-migration software issues; and to get feedback and updates about said issues for the end-users. Also performed data cleansing tasks & subsequent reporting for the project team.
