In January 2024, I began my tenure as Executive Director of the leading national funder network in food and agriculture, called Sustainable Agriculture and Food System Funders (SAFSF). This 20+ year organization is home to over 100 philanthropy and impact investment member organizations, working together for a more just and sustainable food system. Previously, as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at a fast-growing public benefit corporation, I led strategic growth initiatives in partnership with philanthropy, healthcare, government and community based organizations. I drove the establishment of a multi million dollar institutional food service vertical, as well as established ESG protocols for the company. I am most proud of helping to create a $12m blended capital fund to support BIPOC entrepreneurs with business ownership through Everytable’s Social Equity Franchise program.I also served as Executive Director of the Los Angeles Food Policy Council, where I led a network of over 400 organizations toward collective impact in our food system. During my tenure, I led strategic facilitation of a diverse, and often divergent, network of members spanning sectors, geographies, and racial and socioeconomic demographics. By cultivating collaboration, building capacity of our members and aligning interests toward a collective agenda, my team led our network to tangible outcomes, political buy-in and mass community participation in policy victories such as universal SNAP at farmer’s markets, citywide composting, legalizing street food vending, expanding urban agriculture and the Good Food Purchasing Policy.I couple vision and creativity with execution. I am passionate about changing systems for a more regenerative, just, inclusive and peaceful world. All my work is informed by a lifelong commitment to social and racial justice.
