During my time in this role I:Had a major part in delivering a new health and safety management system which was accepted and delivered throughout the organisation.Fulfilled an integral role in developing a new way of sustainable improvement in health and safety performance, through leadership and collaboration amongst client and contractors to drive a radical practical and behavioural improvement in the construction industrySet out new standards for large projects including the £635m Lee Tunnel and Thames Tideway Tunnel projectsObtained an unprecedented level of engagement with our contractors through successful delivery of conferences, awards, workshops and other communications, including a dedicated hub through which contractors can share learning and good practice.Drove an improvement in collective health and safety performance through raising awareness of the importance of health and safety during proceurement activities, thereby ensuring the suppliers are competent and adequately resourced.

I led a team of H&S advisors to provide specialist advice to the business on managing contractors and construction work. My acitivities included maintaining corporate systems in relation to managing contractors and undertaking the role of Client and CDM-C, advising the business on managing contractor health and safety performance and encouraging sharing of learning and good practice

Providing competent advice to the business on both operational and construction health and safety matters I ensured that the business units remained compliant with regulation whilst encouraging the adoption of good practice. I led the review of corporate processes to prepare for the changes to the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007, thereby ensuing the the business remained compliant whilst undertaking the role of Client, CDM-C and Designer. I also undertook regular monitoring of contractor activities and performance.

My main duties included monitoring contractors carrying out both network and process construction projects and reporting on project performance. The focus of this role was to ensure that projects were delivered safely, within budget and to programme
