Clare is an education researcher in the Psychometrics and Methodology Research Program, and the Sampling Unit, at ACER. Prior to joining ACER, Clare was a teacher in Victorian government primary schools and she has additional university qualifications in law and classical history.Clare has experience in survey sampling methodologies, including the design and implementation of complex survey samples in a variety of educational and other contexts. She supports and manages sample-based research work across a wide range of ACER research programs and projects, including for large-scale international and national testing programs and surveys. Additionally she has developed and delivered sampling workshops internationally in support of projects in the International Surveys and Educational Development programs.As a member of the Psychometric and Methodology team, Clare has experience in test design and psychometric analysis, mainly in the context of school-based assessments in areas such as reading comprehension and mathematics. She is the development coordinator for ACER's PAT (Progressive Achievement Test) assessments, bringing together the test development and psychometric teams and communicating highly technical information to a range of relevant internal and external stakeholders.She additionally manages the psychometric component of work in a range of medical and professional education programs, overseeing analysis and reporting and developing and delivering standard setting workshops to fit the diverse needs of these clients across a range of high stakes, professional qualification exam contexts.
