Clare worked for her parents store from 1982, until 1987, when she purchase the domestic division of A-American Sewing Center, a multi-line sewing machine dealership. She too this already successful store and took it to another level. won awards from sewing machine companies and did so, in-part for her ability to satisfy even the most challenging of customers. Blind, deaf, paralyzed and amputees came to the store from nearby hospitals to help them sew independently at home in order to make a living. This was before the personal computer and there was limited options for at-home careers for those challenged with physical and visual complications.Clare also helped to set up sewing factories in the Los Angeles area and aided factories by educating sewing machine operators how to sew without repetitive injury. Don Rowley, Clare's Father welded fabric manipulation devices to help speed up manufacture and their cooperative work led to many achievements that altered the sewing industry forever.Clare's parents Don and Lucille Rowley, had developed a way of teaching Machine Use classes that made learning how to use a sewing machine easier. When Clare began teaching the class, she perfected their book, by creating a uniformed method of step by step illustrated instructions so the customer didn't need to actually "learn" how to use the machine. This "Cookbook" style of not really teaching but rather, instructing revolutionized the sewing industry once Janome, copied the concept with their Memory Craft 5001. Once other sewing machine manufacturers saw Janome's book they adopted the same model.When Clare Invented her sewing machine feet "Creative Feet" she wrote a comprehensive "Machine Use" style book to support the feet. These feet are unprecedented in their flexibility and functionality making the 3 combined capable of doing over 88 different sewing techniques that out-sew any other feet.Clare's latest invention, Octi-Hoops has made it so anyone can do Free-Motion!

Clare was hired at a tender age to be a lead reproduction artist before the age of printing paintings. She has some named art from the gallery and opted to not continue so she could stay true to her art.She benefited from this position by learning how to mass-produce product by painted 40-100 paintings per 14 hour day for little over a year for Vanguard Studios until another artist said. "20 years from now, you'll still be here painting like me." She didn't want to be only a reproduction artist, she continues to paint primarily in oils.
