I Invented the Creative Feet Sewing machine presser feet, "Satinedge" I designed for a blind and deaf woman, the Pearls & Piping foot, I designed for a woman with crippled hands, and it holds round trims making it healthier to sew. and the "Sequins & Ribbon", I designed for a fashion designer. Each of these feet I made with features that are patented and they attach to all sewing machines with a zigzag stitch - even industrial sewing machines, in a single package. I invented the "Octi-Hoops", set of 3, octagon shaped, nesting frames, that act as a giant free-motion foot, eliminating the need for the traditional foot. This hoop set, offers more accuracy than any other method of Free-Motion, with low risk of repetitive motion injury and astounding results! It mimics the act of using a pen or crayon, allowing users to rest their arms on the table increasing their accuracy and without bodily injury or the normal stress of drawing. I invented The Thread Dispenser to reduce the issues sewing machines have with delivering thread to the tension with the least amount of resistance improving stitch quality and sewing machine performance. Each foot can be used for well over 88 different sewing techniques, described in recipe-style format, in my Creative Feet Technical Guide & Workbook. It, coupled with my 2-hour Creative Feet Techniques Instructional DVD have proven very successful. I have been an on-air guest on HSN, It's Sew Easy, Creative Living with Sheryl Borden, Alleene's Creative Living and others and am available for bookings. OwnerA-American Sewing Center Feb 1987 - Aug 1989Canoga Park, CaClare worked for her parents store from 1982, until 1987, when she purchase the domestic division of A-American Sewing Center, a multi-line sewing machine dealership. She too this already successful store and took it to another level. won awards from sewing machine companies and did so, in-part for her ability to satisfy even the most challenging of customers. Blind, deaf, paralyzed and amputees came to the store from nearby hospitals to help them sew independently at home in order to make a living. This was before the personal computer and there was limited options for at-home careers for those challenged with physical and visual complications.Clare also helped to set up sewing factories in the Los Angeles area and aided factories by educating sewing machine operators how to sew without repetitive injury. Don Rowley, Clare's Father welded fabric manipulation devices to help speed up manufacture and their cooperative work led to many achievements that altered the sewing industry forever.Clare's parents Don and Lucille Rowley, had developed a way of teaching Machine Use classes that made learning how to use a sewing machine easier. When Clare began teaching the class, she perfected their book, by creating a uniformed method of step by step illustrated instructions so the customer didn't need to actually "learn" how to use the machine. This "Cookbook" style of not really teaching but rather, instructing revolutionized the sewing industry once Janome, copied the concept with their Memory Craft 5001. Once other sewing machine manufacturers saw Janome's book they adopted the same model.When Clare Invented her sewing machine feet "Creative Feet" she wrote a comprehensive "Machine Use" style book to support the feet.
