Profile bio

About Clare E. Collins

A postgraduate researcher in conservation and biodiversity, I have recently started my PhD in effective biodiversity monitoring of river rewilding projects using eDNA modelling as part of the University of Hull's Rewild Research Cluster, I am also completing my MSc within the Plastics in the Environment Research Group in the Energy and Environment Institute at the University of Hull, U.K. My research interests stem from a passion to understand and mitigate the anthropogenic biodiversity crisis. I came to this project following 10 enjoyable years at the Zoological Society of East Anglia. Working with global conservation field projects and witnessing the impacts of human activity on our natural world is what stimulated my search for answers. Moving with my family further north to East Riding of Yorkshire area, I changed job roles, started lecturing at HE level in Animal Welfare, Behaviour and Husbandry and wished to carry out further research myself. My interests and skills lie in conservation, sustainability, technology and IT skills.
